Climate Protection
One of the largest challenges the Earth has ever faced, is the ongoing climate changes. In the treatment of lung diseases, climate protection should naturally be highly prioritized. On the other hand, it seems unreasonable to ask patients with severe lung disease to lack treatment.
At COP:TRIN, we aim to reduce the climate footprint from treatments, while at the same time offering the patients the best treatment. An important measure to reach such ambitious aims could be “biomarker-guided treatment reduction”, a strategy originally introduced to reduce adverse effects, for which it has proven to be very effective. We envision such a strategy to reduce the amount of respiratory medicine used, and thus, the climate footprint, without reducing the effect of the treatment for the patient. Other ways of obtaining optimal treatment with lowest possible climate footprint will be developed in the years to come
